Spanish Regions
Costa Blanca North
The Costa Blanca is an area of fascinating contrasts. From magnificent mountain ranges to beautiful beaches with acres of space, from large cosmopolitan beach resorts to small, untouched Spanish villages, it’s all here, basking in what is reputed to be the finest climate in Europe.
Property prices, as elsewhere in Spain, have shown strong growth in recent years and the market remains buoyant, making this a great area investing in a second home or a holiday property.
The Costa Blanca enjoys an average of 300 days of sunshine per year with most of the region’s rainfall occurring in spring and autumn. South of Alicante, you’ll find fantastic beaches with sand dunes bordered by beautiful palm, pine and eucalyptus trees. There are many fine residential estates in the area, several of which adjoin top quality golf courses and all offering superb homes.
North of Alicante, as well as the famous cities of Benidorm and Valencia, there are equally beautiful beaches and harbours and many prestigious residential areas set against a dramatic mountain landscape.
If you’re keen on sports, Costa Blanca has a great deal to offer. Championship golf courses, water sports of every type, tennis and shooting are all popular and, of course, skiing in the Sierra Nevada is only a drive away.

Costa Calida
The Costa Cálida – ‘The Warm Coast’ – is ‘real’ Spain. Even now, with its excellent weather, delightful beaches and unspoilt countryside, the Costa Calida is largely unscathed by mass tourism. This is because the region has, until recently, been excluded from Spain's network of fast motorways.
Recently, however, the A7/A37 motorway has been extended from Alicante to Cartagena and Murcia and there are also regular flights between Murcia (San Javier) airport and the Europe. These developments have really improved access to the area and this is reflected by rapidly increasing property values. The Costa Calida, therefore, represents an excellent investment opportunity.
Walled off to the North, East and South by the inland mountain ranges of Andalucia, Castilla and Valencia, the Costa Calida is least known region of Spain yet one of the most historic and beautiful. It is where you’ll find the stunning Mar Menor lagoon, the heritage and ancient architecture of Cartagena and the walled city of Murcia.

The Costa Almería until recently remained one of the more isolated costas. You can see this today in the vast areas of uncultivated land, and unspoilt coastal fishing villages that in many other costas have turned into large tourist towns. However with improved road links and a well supported airport, the Costa Almería now offers some of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas of southern Spain whilst having good infrastructure and facilities for those looking to live, work, holiday or just relax.
Property prices have risen steadily over the last few years, and with increased local investment in facilities and local planning regulations restricting growth, investors and holiday home seekers alike are seeing the value of their property continue to rise.
The Costa Almería enjoys a microclimate, making it the garden of Spain. Many of the fruit and vegetables you buy in your local supermarket are grown on the Costa Almería. With over 320 days of sunshine a year and an average year-round temperature of 19 ° C, it really does offer an ideal escape from the winter blues.
North of Almería you will find the skiing resorts of the Sierra Nevada, offering great snow from around November to March. You could even find yourself skiing in the morning and relaxing on the beach in the afternoon. For those who prefer their sporting activities a little warmer, the Costa Almería offers many good golf courses, as well as marinas providing for every kind of water sport.
Cabo de Gato is the national park of Almería, and offers a myriad of unspoilt beaches and small white villages, the perfect place to escape and really slow the pace down.
The Costa del Sol, on the south of Spain, which covers around 160 kilometres of coastline, is home to one of the most lucrative property investment markets in the world. Gains of between 30% -100% within 12 months are not uncommon. Although famous for its wonderful climate and beautiful beaches, Costa del Sol is also graced by impressive mountains, traditional mountain villages and centuries of tradition and history
The region’s capital is Malaga, which has a strong and growing property market. The towns of Marbella and Estepona - also great investment areas – are easily accessible being well served by the main coastal road.
Golf is extremely popular in the region and there are literally dozens of first class courses just waiting to be experienced. Other leisure activities include The Costa del Sol is a diverse zone that includes beautiful beaches, an impressive mountain range, traditional white mountain villages and centuries of tradition and history.
Malaga airport (a.k.a. Pablo Ruiz Picasso), which is Spain’s fourth busiest, has direct flights to the vast majority of European capitals and its central location makes it a good starting place to begin your exploration of this vibrant and popular area.
